Telecom company, Dhiraagu has announced earnings close to MVR 2 billion by end of third quarter.
Dhiraagu earned MVR 1.9 billion by end third quarter this year, which is MVR 184 million more than the company’s total earnings by end of third quarter in 2015.
It earned MVR 203 million in profit during the third quarter this year, with dividend per share standing at MVR 10.72.
It has distributed MVR 806 million in dividend to its shareholders so far this year.
Speaking during the press conference held this Thursday at Dhiraagu headquarters to announce its third quarter earnings, Chief Financial Officer of Dhiraagu, Robin Wall noted that 2016 had proven to be a prosperous year for Dhiraagu on a number of fronts.
Wall spoke about the developments to its 3G, 4G and fiber broadband internet services, and the new initiatives introduced during the third quarter – the biggest data allowance introduced to Maldivian market – the 15GB mobile data package, and the fiber network established in K. Maafushi to provide high speed internet to households and businesses.
He also noted the special installment plans offered to customers who wished to purchase the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, special broadband internet services introduced to households in L. Atoll, the special package targeting expatriates working in Maldives, and the lowest rates for phone calls to Saudi Arabia during hajj pilgrimage.
Dhiraagu’s third quarter earnings report was passed in its 90th Board meeting.
