Member of the legal team representing the former President of Maldives and the current President of PPM, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Lawyer Husnu Suood, has been ordered to appear at the High Court tomorrow.
Suood told Sun Media that the court has sent the note to appear at the court at 10 a.m. tomorrow but it did not say as to which case it is in relation with.
So far there has been no word from the High Court regarding the summon.
Lawyer Husnu Suood has criticized the Civil Court verdict against President Maumoon in the media regarding the PPM case. And he criticized the High Court's support to the verdict saying that it does not make sense.
He said that the verdict from the lower court was appealed at High Court by the same party that brought the case to the Civil Court. And it was done so that President Maumoon would lose his right to appeal the case.
Suood made accusations saying that it was already planned to "stamp" the verdict before it was appealed at the High Court.
The lawyer said that it is a defilement of the High Court and the court must stop it. He said that the High Court mist dismiss that case and proceed with President Maumoon's appeal.
During the proceedings of the trial, the Court stopped Suood when he tried to bring those things in court.
