Regional countries have started the pre-South Asian Conference on Sanitation meeting to prepare for the event, which will be held in Pakistan in 2017.
The pre-meeting began at Champa Central Hotel this Tuesday, and will continue until Wednesday, October 19.
All SAARC countries except for India; Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are participating in the meeting.
Director of Ministry of Environment, Ajwad Mustafa said that the countries had discussed progress made on achieving contents of Dhaka Declaration, and preparations for the South Asian Conference on Sanitation.
Mustafa said that the SAARC countries had made little progress on the Dhaka Declaration, but that Maldives had made comparatively more progress compared to other countries.
