14 prison inmates sit for SSC exams

14 prison inmates have participated in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams this year.

Maldives Correctional Service reported that the prison inmates were allowed to sit for the SSC exams as part of the initiative to re-educate and rehabilitate convicted criminals and help them re-start life after prison.

16 inmates sat for the SSC exam last year.

MCS’s Institute for Correctional Studies is currently collaborating with Institute of Quran and Sunnah to educate the prison inmates in Quran and Islam.
