Ministry of Tourism has announced that the safaris in Hulhumale’ lagoon were being relocated to K. Gulhifalhu in an effort to provide a solution to the problems being faced by the safaris.
Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer spoke to “Sun” on Wednesday and said that Gulhifalhu Harbor was being prepared exclusively for safaris. And that it would provide a solution to the problems being faced by the safaris.
“The government is leaning towards relocation. Economic Ministry is making arrangements to facilitate relocation to Gulhifalhu,” said Minister Zameer.
The Hulhumale’ lagoon – which is filled with safaris – is easily accessible to other boats making the safaris frequent targets of crimes such as robberies.
Rise in number of liquor bottles being smuggled into Hulhumale’ from the safaris nearby is also a concern.
Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation, Mohamed Saiman said in an earlier interview with “Sun” that authorities were compiling stricter guidelines for safaris.
