Chairman of Majlis al-Shura of Oman calls on President

Chairman of Majlis al-Shura – an advisory council of Oman, Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali paid a courtesy call on Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this Tuesday morning.

Al Maawali called upon President Yameen at the President’s Office.

During the call, President Yameen conveyed greetings and well wishes to the government and people of Oman- especially Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

President to talked about the importance of the brotherly ties between the two countries – ties, he noted, were based on mutual understanding, promotion of Islamic values and protection of Islamic identity.

Both President Yameen and Chairman Al Maawali discussed areas of further cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope of continued cooperation between People’s Majlis of Maldives and Majlis al-Shura of Oman.

Al Mawaali also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome he received from Maldives.

Speaker of People’s Majlis - Abdullah Maseeh Mohamed, Deputy Speaker of People’s Majlis - Moosa Manik, Minister of State for Foreign Relations at President’s Office - Mohamed Naseer, Secretary General of People’s Majlis - Ahmed Mohamed and Counsel General of the Secretariat of People’s Majlis -Fathimath Filza were in attendance during the call.
