2 arrested in street fight in Addu which injured 5

Police have made two arrests in the violent street fight which took place in Hithadhoo, Addu City of September 23, leading to five people being taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Police said that they arrested the two 22-year-old Maldivian men on Sunday night.

Hithadhoo Magistrate Court has granted a 15-day remand for the two men.

Hithadhoo Regional Hospital reported that all five men brought in after the street fight had stab wounds, but had not suffered any life-threatening injuries.

One of the men – who had a deep stab wound on the back of his neck - has been transported to Male’ for further treatment.
