Maldivian tourism promo launched in new Chinese region

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is taking part in Sichuan International Travel Expo in an effort to boost the number of Chinese tourists who visit Maldives.

Sichuan is a southwestern province of China.

Participation in Sichuan International Travel Expo marks the first time MMPRC has held promotional activities anywhere in China outside of the capital – Beijing – and a few other central economic areas.

It includes participation in Kunming Fair, and promotional activities in some cities such as Changzhou and Shanghai.

Sichuan International Travel Expo in being held from September 23 to 28.

Summits, forums and business meetings are ongoing before it is opened to the general public on September 26.

The 3rd Sichuan International Travel Expo in being held at Emeishan city in Leshan, in Sichuan Province.

MMPRC was invited to participate in the event, along with tourism industry organizations from more than 45 other countries.

Maldivian tourism industry is dominated by Chinese tourists, with authorities tapping into the market by carrying out more promotional activities in China and increasing direct flights between the two countries.
