Maldivian Elections Commission (EC) has taken part in the UNDP Capacity Building Program held in New Delhi, India, to pave for holding elections using the latest technologies.
Senior Accounts Officer, Aishath Shaffaaf and Senior Administrative Officer, Shahla Ismail are representing the Maldivian EC at the Program organized by the Indian Elections Commission with the help of the UNDP, is being held from 20-29 September 2016.

Elections Commission said that they would be sharing the information on how the information technologies are being used in the elections in the Maldives at the ten-day program targeted to institutes relying on election management technologies.

The India International Institute of Democracy and Elections Management (IIIDEM) said that the purpose of such a program is to efficiently use technology in the elections and make way to a transparent, independent election.
Election commissions from four other South Asian countries are taking part in the program along with Russina, Taiwan, South Korea and Indonesia.
