‘Intruder’ sentenced to 3 months in prison

‘Intruder’ Jum’aan Mohamed from G. Dh. Thinadhoo has been sentenced to three months in prison for entering the house G. Nashid Villa in Male’ unpermitted.

State prosecution had charged Jum’aan with disobedience over the offense.

Criminal Court, on Tuesday, ruled that Jum’aan had confessed of the offense to the court. And was therefore found guilty.

He was sentenced to three months in prison under Chapter III, Article 88 (a) of the old Penal Code -which states disobedience of a court or legal order as an offense, and prescribes a sentence of maximum six months under house arrest, imprisonment or banishment, or a fine of no more than MVR 150.
