Minor burned during Eid preparations in Meedhoo

A minor has sustained severe burns during the preparation for “Maali” (a traditional costume parade,) for the Eid celebrations in Meedhoo, Addu City.

Councilman Ali Mohamed of the Meedhoo Council said that such an incident has occurred and a 15-year-old boy was injured.

The Councilman said that the boy was initially treated at Hulhumeedhoo Health Center before being transferred to the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.

Senior Administrator at Hulhumeedhoo Health Center, Ibrahim Didi said that the boy sustained burns of about 50 percent of his body.

He said that the boy’s condition is not serious.
