President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that no matter how much pressure is put on the government and regardless of the attempts to smear the name of the country, no development projects being conducted for the good of the people is going to slow down.
Addressing the nation on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha and sending the wishes of the occasion, the President said that the government has it’s sights on fulfilling the promises made to the people. The President said that the results of the fulfillment of the promises and projects for the good of the people are being seen.
And so no matter how much pressure is put on the government, President Yameen assured that with God’s Will, no developmental project being conducted for the good of the people would be slowing down.
The President noted that there are a few Maldivians working with foreigners to pressure a constitutional government in the Maldives and to smear the name of the country by spreading false information. President Yameen said that as a result of such actions, it is not far off that the economy and the lives of the people could be affected by it.
President Yameen said that such actions affect the long standing tradition of unity in the country and cause distress among the people.
The President sent the greeting of the Eid to all the Maldivians and the Maldives in Saudi for the Hajj Pilgrimage.
