Over 1,000 visitors in Day 1 of Hotel Asia Exhibition

More than 1,000 people have visited the Hotel Asia Exhibition and Culinary Challenge in just one day after it was opened in Dharubaaruge.

The event, organized by Maldives Exhibition and Conferences Service (MECS) displays tourism products from 17 countries, and saw 1,380 visitors by 5 pm on Monday, after it was opened to public at 10 am.

The exhibition will showcase products of 116 companies from 172 stalls.

Food products are displayed on the ground floor of Dharubaaruge; with visitors given a taste of fresh fruit, vegetables and tasty dishes prepared by world-class chefs working in Maldivian resorts.

MECS said that the event was even more successful than they had predicted.

Hotel Asia Exhibition and Culinary Challenge will continue until September 7 at Dharubaaruge.

Visitors will be allowed to attend the exhibition from 10 am to 7 pm.

Meanwhile, 516 chefs working in Maldivian resorts will be participating in the culinary challenge.

Winners will be awarded from 20 categories.

A panel of internationally certified judges, international award winning chefs and leading experts in the industry – led by Project Director Alan Palmer - will be judging the competition.
