Doctor: Man found in Maradhoo Harbor died from brain hemorrhage after seizure

The doctor who analyzed the body of the elderly man found dead Maradhoo Harbor area of Addu City on Sunday night has concluded that the man died from a brain hemorrhage after a head injury he sustained after falling down on the ground from a seizure.

The elderly man, whose body was discovered in the sand in Maradhoo Harbor has been identified as Ahmed Ali, 86, from Ranveli in G. Dh. Faresmaathodaa.

Community Health Officer of Maradhoo Health Center, Iruthisham Najeeb spoke to “Sun” on Monday morning and said that according to the doctor, the elderly man had died from a head injury he sustained after suffering from a seizure.

“He has a fractured skull from falling down. It looks like he died from brain hemorrhage due to the fracture,” said Iruthishaam.

She said that the elderly man suffered from seizures on a regular basis, and that his body showed no outward signs of injuries except for the fractured skull, and scrapes on three places.

Police are investigating the case, but have made no official comment yet.
