10 officers sent to India for higher education

10 Maldivian police officers have gone to India for higher education in a scholarship opportunity provided by Lovely Professional University of India.

The officers traveled to India on August 19 and August 226.

Lovely Professional University provided one scholarship spot for Master’s Degree and nine spots for Bachelor’s Degree.

Full-tuition fees for two of the officers – who will be studying forensic science and half of the tuition fees for eight of the officers will be covered by the university.

The 10 officers were selected for the scholarship opportunities after scoring the highest marks in and open application process.

Maldives Police Service is sponsoring the officers’ two-way tickets and will be providing them with their salaries and allowances as they complete their education.

The scholarship courses are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automobile Engineering

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

• Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Science

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education and Sports

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology

• Masters of Forensic Science
