Pilgrims depart to Saudi for Hajj

The first group of Hajj Pilgrims going to Saudi Arabia through the Hajj Corporation has left tonight for this year’s Hajj Pilgrimage.

Pilgrims departed to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) today at 4:30 p.m. near the Izzuddeen Jetty through the special ferries to Hulhulé.

While 1000 people are set to go on the Hajj Pilgrimage this year with the Hajj Corporation, 193 pilgrims left the country tonight.

The second flight of the Hajj Pilgrims is set for this Thursday. And the third and fourth flights would be on Sunday and Monday according to the Hajj Corporation.

A total of 2000 people are set to go on the Hajj Pilgrimage from the Maldives this year. According to Article 22 of the Regulations, the Islamic Ministry would be giving 50 percent of the Hajj quota for the Maldives to the Hajj Corporation.
