8 more principals leave to Malay for training

Eight more local public school principals have left for Malaysia in a one-week study tour.

The study tour is organized by Maldivian Ministry of Education and UNITAR International University of Malaysia.

Ministry of Education reported that 23 principals left for the tour on Thursday, with eight more joining them on Friday.

The principals on the study tour will visit UNITAR International University and five other schools in Malaysia.

In addition to this, the team of principals will also be attending workshops which will be held at UNITAR International University regarding upgrading the school system.

This is the fourth study-tour to be held by Ministry of Education.

The participants of the tour include principals, deputy principals and leading teachers from public schools in Male’ and the atolls.

The fifth batch of principals are scheduled to leave for study tour in Malaysia on August 18.

Ministry of Education said that it was their aim to ensure every principal in the country is provided the opportunity to participate in the study tour by end of 2017.
