Majlis approves 5 Cabinet ministers

People’s Majlis, on Monday, provided their backing to newly appointed Cabinet ministers, and ministers who have been transferred to head other ministries.

All lawmakers who participated voted in favor of approving the ministers.

They are:

• Ahmed Zuhoor – transferred from Ministry of Youth and Sports to Ministry of Home Affairs

• Iruthisham Adam – transferred from Ministry of Health to Ministry of Youth and Sports

• Abdulla Nazim – appointed Minister of Health

• Ahmed Munawwar – appointed Minister of Finance

• Aminath Zenysha Shaheed Zaki – appointed Minister of Gender and Family

Their names were sent to People’s Majlis for approval by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on June 29, after being appointed to the post on June 22.

Meanwhile, Zuhoor was recently removed from the Minister of Home Affairs and appointed to the position of Minister of President’s Office.

The name of new Minister of Home Affairs – Azleen Ahmed was sent to Government Oversight Committee for evaluation this Monday.
