Imprisoned former Maldivian Vice President and Tourism Minister, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor was brought to Male’ on Sunday for a doctor’s appointment.
Ahmed Lugmaan – information officer for Maldives Correctional Service confirmed to “Sun” that Adeeb had been taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Sunday morning for a doctor’s appointment.
Lugmaan said that Adeeb was taken to IGMH upon advise of the in-house doctor at Maafushi Prison, but that it was nothing serious.
Adeeb is currently serving a combined 33-year sentence for multiple offenses with many still pending – including conspiracy to assassinate President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
