Object likely part of a jet washes ashore Vilamendhoo Resort

An object, which looks to be a part of a jet plane has been discovered washed ashore Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa.

Police media official confirmed to “Sun” that that the authorities had been informed of a unidentified object washed ashore Vilamendhoo Resort.

He said that both police and military officers were operating in the area.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) information officer Major Adnan Mohamed has also confirmed that military officers were operating in the area, and said that the case was now under investigation.

A hand grenade used in military training was found washed ashore Hulhule’ – where Ibrahim Nasir International Airport is located recently – on July 27.
