Doctors have ruled the death of 24-year-old man – Mohamed Shazleem – who drowned late Friday afternoon while swimming in K. Dhiffushi – a result of a seizure.
The conclusion of the doctors who examined Shazleem’s body after the drowning was confirmed to “Sun” by Dhiffushi Island Council this Saturday.
President of Dhiffushi Council, Hussain Shahuneez said that Shazleem often suffered from seizures, and recalled that he had suffered a similar incident very recently as well.
“He died after a seizure. This is something which he struggled with regularly. He recently suffered a seizure while diving near Thulushdhoo,” said Shahuneez.
Shahuneez said that Shazleem – who worked in Male’ – would often travel to Dhiffushi whenever he got a holiday.
“That’s how people are during that young age. He would come whenever he got a holiday and go to the sea,” said Shahuneez.
Shazleem drowned sometime between 3 – 3:30 pm on Friday, and was pronounced dead by the doctors at 3:55 pm.
