Maldivian government said on Monday that it was still willing to involve former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed and Adhaalath Party leader Imran Abdulla in all-party talks.
In answer to a question posed by “Sun” during press conference regarding the all-party talks at President’s Office, Maldivian Minister of Fisheries Dr. Mohamed Shainee said that each one of government’s decisions were well thought through and free of personal agendas.

“The door is still open. They can participate in the talks,” said Shainee, regrading opposition’s demand to allow Nasheed and Imran to participate in the all-party talks.
Shainee said that United Nations Special Envoy Samuel Tamrat would arrive in Maldives this Monday to resume the all-party talks, and that government would join the talks this time around.

Shainee said that the government had set objectives for the all-party talks.
“We will set objectives for the upcoming all-party talks. We want this all-party talks to be designed in such a way that the objectives are achieved,” he said.
Opposition had previously demanded the government to set up a constructive, solution-oriented environment for the all-party talks.
This demand was criticized by Shainee, who said that those who made the demand were now in UK, and that the Maldivian government cannot set up such an environment in that country.
