School employees given chance to study with an allowance

Ministry of Education have provided the opportunity for employees working is public schools to apply for an education scheme in which they will be allowed to study, and provided an allowance equal to their salary.

101 slots have been made available in the scheme.

Teachers, principals, school health assistants, school counsellors, librarians, lab technicians and vocational trainers – who have working continuously in a public school for the past 2 years are all eligible for the scheme.

Ministry of Education said in their announcement regarding the opportunity that 69 slots will be made available to school employees who agree to work at public schools in islands facing shortage of staff, and in posts public schools in Maldives have shortage of staff in.

10 slots will be given to staff working in schools who lack adequate expertise, and the remaining 22 slots will go to those chosen for the Masters of Education in Education Assessment.

Employees of public schools interested in the opportunity are to send in their applications by 1 pm, August 1 to Ministry of Education.
