High Rise to organize South Asian Travel Awards

Maldivian event management company – High Rise has been hired to organize South Asian Travel Awards (SATA).

SATA was launched in a special ceremony held at Sri Lanka on Thursday.

It is the first regional travel award to be handed out in South Asia with the collaboration of travel associations of different countries.

Resorts, guesthouses, safaris and travel agencies operating in South Asia have the opportunity to compete for the awards.

SATA 2016 will be held by Colombo Chamber of Commerce, in association with Maldivian Association of Travel Agencies (ATA), Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), and Indian Confederation of Accredited Tour Operators (CATO).

Speaking during the press conference held after launching the event, President of Colombo Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Amila Kankanamge said that the event was an important step taken to celebrate the region’s tourism industry.

The event is scheduled to be held in October 2016, in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo.

Awards will be handed out in 37 categories included in 10 segments.

Opportunity to send in names for the awards will come to a close on July 30.

Maldivian Association of Travel Agencies (ATA) will act as the Maldivian focal point in the event.

High Rise, one of the biggest names in event management in Maldives, has managed events in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
