Councilor arrested for sexually assaulting daughter

A N. Maalhendhoo Council member has been arrested for sexually assaulting his daughter.

Police said that a 35-year-old man was arrested from Maalhendhoo on Sunday for suspected sexual assault of a minor.

The suspect is a council member, and the father of the 14-year-old victim.

The case is under investigation by police.
