Boat crashes on the new lagoon entrance on south of Malé

A boat has crashed on to the lagoon entrance newly opened on the south side of Malé City.

Police Media Official said that the captain of the boat was injured in the incident took place around 8:45 p.m. tonight and is being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The official said that there were two expatriates aboard aside from the captain.

Further details on the boat “Faaz” that crashed is unclear at this time.

Police say that they are working with the Marine Police to pull the boat back to sea.
