15 people injured in boat collision

A speedboat carrying 13 people and a boat travelling between Vilimale’ and Feydhoo Finolhu collided on Saturday night causing multiple injuries.

Police said the accident took place at around 7:30 pm. And that those injured were taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Media coordinator of IGMH, Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that 15 people were taken to the hospital for treatment – 10 expatriates and five Maldivians.

She reported that none of the victims suffered any critical injuries.
