Muhuthaz, Nihan appeal their 17-year sentence

Former Prosecutor General Muhuthaz Muhsin and A. Dh. Maamingili Chief Magistrate Ahmed Nihan have appealed their 17-year sentence for attempting to arrest President Abdulla Yameen unlawfully.

High Court has confirmed that relevant documents from Criminal Court have been sent to High Court for the appeal.

The court found Muhuthaz and Nihan guilty of attempting and participating in a terrorist act.

Muhuthaz was charged with travelling to Maamingli in the early hours of February 7, and working with Nihan to create a bogus arrest warrant for Yameen.
