Repairs at the Huravee Building has begun

While a concrete piece fell from the Huravee Building injuring an elderly man, Housing Ministry has begun repairs at the building.

The Ministry has now begun repairs at the parts of the old building that are about to fall and put netting around the building. The work is being done at the hours of the night.

Housing Ministry has refused to comment on the details of the repairs.

Media Coordinator of the Housing Ministry,Ahmed Fazal Hussain has previously told Sun Media that an inspection of the building would be made and take down any parts of the building that need to be taken down.

On 1 June, a concrete piece fell from the Huravee Building and hit 59-year-old Ibrahim Rasheed, who is an employee at the Finance Department of STELCO, breaking ribs on his left side.
