Shabnamy Hussain Didi passes away

Shabnamy Hussain Didi, one of the country’s leading arborists, passed away on Thursday.

Hussain Didi’s family informed “Sun” that Hussain Didi died in the early hours of Thursday while receiving treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Hussain Didi was above 60 years of age when he passed away, and is survived by his wife and two children.

He was the person who led the tree planting projects in Theemuge, People’s Majlis, Dharubaaruge and Kudakudhinge Bageecha.

In addition to running different state projects to plant trees, he ran a number of shops selling plants and seeds.

He was a close companion of former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, and was often seen with him during badminton games.
