20 of the 27 Maldivian students who were granted scholarship opportunities by Indian Council
for Cultural Relations (ICCR) were officially awarded the scholarships in a function held on Wednesday.
The students were awarded the scholarships by Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra.
Indian High Commission announced that the remaining seven students would also be awarded the scholarships very soon.
ICCR provides 39 scholarship opportunities to Maldives each year.
All expenses – tickets, living expenses and full tuition is covered by Indian government.
The 20 students who were awarded the scholarships will be leaving for Indian on June 28.
They will be studying at Delhi University and Osmania University, Hyderabad.
