The three people arrested in Himandhoo moved to house arrest

The three people that were arrested in Himandhoo for obstruction of Police Duties for obstructing the Police while executing a court order on Wednesday to secure a child from the father to be handed over to the custody of the mother, has been put under house arrest for seven days.

Police said that they went to the island yesterday and arrested the three people with court orders and was taken to the Criminal Court today to make a decision on their detention and the court ruled for house arrest.

A small conflict took place between the Police and a group of people from the island while executing the court order for the change of custody. Police used pepper spray to control the confrontation.

The father of the child was also arrest for disobeying Police orders and has been put under house arrest for five days.

Police succeeded in their operation for the change of the child’s custody.
