Noonu Holhudhoo’s Haroon Abdul Latheef who has been charged with the murder of 73-year-old Ismail Abdul Rahman (Ismailbe) has pleaded not guilty.
The state brought for the charges following the death of Ismailbe on 18 November 2015 from the wound inflicted after being lured into a narrow ally, allegedly by Haroon, and stabbed in the chest by a knife with a ten-inch blade on 15 November 2015 after the Isha prayers.
Haroon was charged with first degree murder under Article C of the Law banning the carrying dangerous weapons and sharp objects and making threats in reference to Article A.
He has been given 15 days to assign legal counsel from state funds.
