60,000 square feet of land to be leased from Hulhumale for commercial purposes in 2016

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said that 60,000 square feet of land would be leased from Hulhumale’ this year for commercial purposes.

In an exclusive interview to “Sun”, Managing Director of HDC, Mohamed Simon said that 60,000 square feet of land would be leased from Hulhumale’ this year for commercial purposes – and that it included space from Hulhumale’ Mini-Mall, Shopping Mall and Community Center.

“This means that businesses will increase and economic activities will increase – leading to creation of multiple job opportunities in Hulhumale’,” said Simon.

Simon noted that Tree Top Hospital and other such projects in Hulhumale’ would create a wide array of job opportunities in Hulhumale’.

Maldivian government plans on shifting the larger part of the population of Male’ to Hulhumale’ – a man-made island which is officially a district of Male’.
