Police kick down door, prevent house from burning down

Police kicked down the door of an apartment in Male’, and put out a fire on Tuesday night.

Police said the fire took place in an apartment on 3rd floor of G. Haama, at around 10:50 pm.

Police said that there was no one at home at the time of the fire, and that police entered the building and put out the fire by kicking down the door of the apartment.

Investigation into the fire so far leads them to believe the fire incident took place when a pot on the stove – which was on – caught fire, said police.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police have advised the public to be vigilant in preventing such incidents – such as ensuring the stove is off if everyone is leaving the apartment or going to sleep.
