Eggs of unknown origin found on the beach of H. Dh. Vaikaradhoo gets ruined and thrown away after authorities fail to claim ownership of it.
President of Vaikaradhoo Council, Ibrahim Mohamed spoke to “Sun” on Tuesday and said that the eggs were thrown away – four days back.
“The eggs cracked and got ruined on its own. So threw it away. It cracked the very next day after it was found. We called the police, the defense. We haven’t heard back from any of them,” said Ibrahim Mohamed.
Vaikaradhoo Council said that the eggs did not look to have drifted in from the ocean.
It was found buried one foot below the ground, where the beach ends and the black soil begins.
The council said unusual footprints were found on the beach that could mean the eggs were laid by an animal which came out of the ocean.
Council reported the eggs were shaped like eggplants with a soft outer shell, and that they found four yolks inside when they cracked open one egg.
The eggs don’t come from any animal that inhabits Maldives.
Rumors are running abundant that the eggs could have been laid by a crocodile or snake, while some believe it could have been laid by a loggerhead musk turtle.
