Former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor, currently on trial with charges, has raised concerns that some media outlets are not being allowed to the hearings of his trials.
Speaking at the hearing today at the hearing of the trial of the second charge of misuse of official authority against the former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb, lawyer Moosa Siraaj said that some media outlets are not being allowed in the hearings of the trials of his client and so requested that all media outlets be allowed into the hearings.
When the request was made on behalf of the former Vice President on trial, Chief Judge on the bench, Judge Ahmed Rasheed said that there were journalists at the hearing today. And he said that there is no ban on the journalists for his hearings.
Judge Ahmed Rasheed said that if a decision has been made by the administration of the Criminal Court to ban journalists to the hearings in the cases involving Adheeb, then no journalists would be allowed in since it would a decision of the Court.
