Suspected arsonist re-arrested in money laundering case

Hussein Shahid, who was arrested and then later released for allegedly attempting an arson attack in Male’, has been re-arrested in a money laundering case.

Shahid was arrested in arson case on February 18 and released last Thursday; only to be re-arrested again in a money laundering case.

Police media official has confirmed that police have re-arrested a suspect, previously arrested for attempting an arson attack in different parts of Male’.

Shahid is former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb’s cousin.

“Sun” has been informed that he was arrested from Male’ Jetty, as soon as he reached Male’ after being released from Dhoonidhoo Prison.

Meanwhile, Adeeb is also being kept in prison as he is buried under a large pile of charges – including having a hand in an assassination attempt on President Abdulla Yameen, as well as corruption.
