Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced account opening by appointment for new accounts as opposed to the queuing system.
Speaking at a press conference today, Director of Retail Banking at BML, Mohamed Shareef said that appointments can be made by calling BML Contact Center 3330200 at any time from 24 April on wards.
Shareef said that new accounts can be opened by arriving at the bank on the appointment time. With the submission of the relevant documents, new account service would be available in five days.
“Opening an account with BML has to be convenient and it has to be simple. With the introduction of this service, customers can now avoid queues and unnecessary waiting time; instead they can enjoy a dedicated service at their convenience.” Shareef said.
He said that the bank staff would still be assisting in opening accounts in a short notice at the bank.
BML currently serves over 260,000 customers through a network of 29 branches, 76 ATMs, 3,200 POS merchants, 177 cash agents, 14 Self-Service Banking Centers and 5 Dhoni Banking Units, BML’s investment and presence far exceeds that of all other banks combined.
