The opposition politicians of the Maldives currently in the UK has NWT with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland.
Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim tweeted today that rekindling democracy in the Maldives was discussed in the meeting.
Patricia Scotland was a legal adviser the Maldivian government during the Presidency of Dr. Waheed during the CMAG (Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group) pressure.
She was also on the Council of the Omnia Strategy law firm advising the Maldivian government during President Nasheed's case at the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.
The Legal Affairs Minister at the President's Office, Aishath Azima Shukoor went to the UK last month to meet the new Commonwealth Secretary General.
