High Court orders ex-PG arrest

High Court on Sunday ordered that former Prosecutor General, Muhuthaz Muhsin be re-arrested.

Muhuthaz had been previously arrested and then released by Criminal Court.

State prosecutors had appealed Criminal Court’s decision, and High Court ruled in favor, ordering that Muhuthaz be kept under arrest.

Details regarding Muhuthaz’s remand period is unavailable at the moment as the hearing is being held behind closed doors, with no media allowed inside.

Muhthaz was originally arrested on February 7, for his alleged involvement in a bogus court order for President Abdulla Yameen’s arrest.

He was released by Criminal Court the next day when he was taken there for the remand hearing.
