Former Prosecutor General (PG) Muhuthaz Muhusin has been released after his arrest in relation to the false court order for the arrest of the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Police Media Official told Sun Media today that Muhuthaz was released when he was taken to court today to make a decision about his remand.
The former PG was released by the Criminal Court when he was originally arrested in relation to the false court order before his release was appealed at the High Court which remanded him by 15 days to investigate. After that, his remand was extended by ten days.
After looking into the appeal, the High Court said that the former PG Muhuthaz went to Maamigili around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday night, allied with a Magistrate, opened the Magistrate Court and worked to get a court order to arrest President Abdulla Yameen and depose the government.
