Largest underwater restaurant brought, ready for installation

The largest underwater restaurant – built in New Zealand – has been transported to Maldives and is ready to be sunk underwater.

New Zealand newspapers reported that that over a year had to be spent for research and design work before the 22.5 meter restaurant could be transported to Maldives.

The restaurant will be located in the resort in Lh. Huravalhi, which will be opened in August this year.

The resort is a joint venture between Maldivian government and Champa Group – co-owned by businessman Champa Mohamed Moosa (Uchu).

The restaurants has a 13 meter high staircase and can serve 24 people at one sitting as the customers enjoy beautiful underwater scenery.

It has been reported that the restaurant will be rented-out for wedding functions and for couples on their honeymoon in the future.
