Mugger bites off man’s ear after failing to steal phone

A mugger has bitten off part of a man’s ear who was performing prayers at Masjid Al-Thaqwa in Henviru ward on Wednesday morning.

Police media official confirmed the attack, and said that the incident took place at around 9:30 am.

A Maldivian man has been arrested in relation to the case.

The police official said that the mugger had bitten off part of the victim’s left ear after failing to steal his phone.

The victim is now being treated at ADK Hospital.
