Adheeb: Leave me in jail and release other political prisoners

The former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb, currently detail in relation to the explosion on board the Presidential Launch last year, has called to leave him in jail and release the other political prisoners.

Adheeb made the statement in a press release issued through his lawyers.

In his statement, the former Vice President called to the government to release the other political prisoners even if he is left in jail for the “satisfaction of the President Yameen’s heart.”

Former Vice President Adheeb called for the release of the former President, Mohamed Nasheed, the President of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla, former Defence Ministers, Colonel-retired Nazim and Tholath along with the former MP Nazim and other political prisoners for the benefit of the people country.

He also called to stop using Judges for political motives while the Judicial System has to be completely independent.

And while we’re aware that political power and influence will not always remain with one person and could turn at any time, the former Vice President’s statement called to all associated with the Judiciary to not obey to political influence even to gain favor with political figures.
