Minor arrested in Velidhoo with a large amount of drugs

A minor has been arrested in Velidhoo in a Police operation, with a large amount of drugs.

Maldives Police Service said that the minor was arrested last Monday while entering an abandoned house trying to flee the Police.

And during the search of the place he was standing, 183 cellophane packets of suspected drugs were found on the floor.

Police said that the child has a record for drug related cases.

When the minor was taken to the N. Velidhoo Magistrate Court to make a decision about his remand, the child was remanded with 15 days to be detained at a place designated by the Home Ministry to investigate further.
