Education Ministry has confirmed that a complaint had been filed with them regarding the case of an expatriate teacher working at Ameeniya School who attempted to molest students.
Permanent Secretary for Education Ministry, Dr. Abdul Muhsin Mohamed spoke to “Sun” on Sunday and said that the ministry had taken all measures necessary after they received the complaint.
“Yes… Such a complaint has been received by Ministry. Minstry has now taken all the measures needed regarding the issue,” said Muhsin.
A senior official from Ameeniya School who spoke to “Sun” said that a teacher had been “sidelined” for violating Code of Conduct, but would make no comment on what the teacher did to violate the Code of Conduct.
“Sun” has been informed that the teacher taught Travel and Tourism, and had attempted to molest high school students during numerous occasions. And that the school and Education
Ministry had taken immediate action when the teacher was reported by students and parents.
The teacher has reportedly been deported now.
