Team from EU visits Maafushi Prison

A team from European Union has visited Maafushi Prison to assess the situation of the prison and collect information on various rehabilitation programs run there.

Maldives Corrections Service (MCS) said that the team visited the prison on Monday.

MSC said that the EU team observed farm work prisoners are involved in and vocational training programs, and visited sites.

The team also checked classrooms were prisoners are taught, computer lab, library, and also Special Protection Unit.

The EU team was also shown a presentation prepared about the prison by MSC.

The EU team that visited Maafushi Prison consisted of 5 officials.
