Maldives Police Service has said that they would appeal the release of the former Prosecutor General (PG) Muhuthaaz Muhusin by the court.
The former PG was arrested last night for his suspected involvement in the case of the forged court order to arrest the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Criminal Court released the former PG when he was taken to court today to make a decision about his remand.
Police Media Official told Sun Media that they would appeal the release.
The Magistrate of the A. Dh. Maamigili Magistrate Court, Ahmed Nihan was also arrest. His remand was extended by seven days.
The forged court order was allegedly going to be used to arrest President Abdulla Yameen in the case of the corruption Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
