Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said that their investigation into Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) corruption case was almost complete.
ACC started investigating MMPRC about three months back.
ACC Vice President Muawwiz Rasheed spoke to “Sun” and said that their investigation was now at the last stage, but that he could not give a specific date on which it would be complete.
“I don’t want to give an exact date, as there are still some things remaining to be done. It’s now in the final stage,” said Muawwiz.
Muawwiz said that they had notices some issues with MMPRC, but that they could not provide any details regarding the issues just yet.
Auditor General’s Office has already completed their investigation and released a special audit report of MMPRC.
The corruption amounts to over MVR 1.2 billion – making it the biggest case of corruption in Maldivian history.
